News Update : Bolusing with Fast Acting & Ultra-Fast Acting Insulins

Hi,

Please note that we are currently updating our animations regarding giving insulin before food.  This currently corresponds to fast acting insulin only. So to clarify, there are now various types of fast acting insulins that are recommended to give with food.

They may have different ‘action’ times so we’d like to give you an update on the guidance.

Always give insulin before food.

If you are using fast acting insulin e.g. Novorapid  we recommend that you give your meal bolus dose 15 minutes before food.

If you use ultra-fast acting insulin e.g FiAsp we recommend that you give your food bolus just before food.

We hope this new guidance is helpful and if you have any questions then contact your diabetes team and they will be happy to support you.

Many thanks from all at Team DB
