Here’s an exciting announcement from Air Liquide about the t:slim X2 insulin pump:
We’re delighted to announce the upcoming launch of our new mobile app (1014706 Android + 1014707 iOS) and the Tandem Source platform (1011061) for the t:slim X2 insulin pump — a significant step forward in helping to make the management of Type 1 Diabetes more intuitive, connected, and less burdensome for patients.
From Monday, August 4th, 2025, patients will be able to view critical pump data such as insulin on board, carbohydrate entries, current settings, and alerts — all in one place and bolus directly from their smartphones*. This enhanced convenience supports more discreet and flexible pump use, giving patients greater freedom in how, and where, they wear their pump.
With the new app, pump data will also be automatically uploaded to the cloud-based Tandem Source** platform, enabling patients to seamlessly share their data with healthcare professionals. This ensures that providers can access clear, actionable insights to help optimise therapy settings and improve outcomes.
Supporting Better Diabetes Management
Both the mobile app and Tandem Source are designed to ease the daily challenges of managing diabetes, helping to turn complex data into meaningful, real-time decisions. By simplifying therapy tracking and increasing visibility, these tools can help reduce the mental and emotional burden of this chronic disease.
There’s also a clear clinical benefit: a recent study¹ showed that users of the mobile bolus feature increased bolus frequency by 22%, which can support improved glycemic control.
Inside the Tandem Source Platform
Tandem Source presents pump data in three intuitive reports:
- Overview Report: Offers a concise summary of therapy data and glucose trends, shown in easy-to-read tiles.
- Daily Timelines Report: Displays detailed insights into daily glucose levels, insulin delivery, suspension events, and more over a selected period.
- Pump Settings Report: Highlights all adjustable therapy parameters such as basal rates, carb ratios, and correction factors.
Launch and Access
The Tandem t:slim X2 mobile app will be available for download in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store starting August 4th, 2025. Patients will receive an email with instructions on how to update their pump software and activate the new features.
From this date, all new t:slim X2 insulin pumps will come with the app functionality pre-installed. More information will be available at www.makingdiabeteseasier.com.
