Life Beyond Diabetes – Virtual Q&A Session
Monday, 9 November 2020 at 7pm
When your child has type 1 diabetes, it can sometimes feel overwhelming. From hypos, to carb counting, to set changes – there’s always something to think about. But diabetes doesn’t have to stop your child from doing anything they want to do.
Join us for our Life Beyond Diabetes Virtual Q&A Session on Monday, 9 November at 7pm. You’ll meet five fabulous volunteers who all live with type 1. They’ll share their experiences about how they fit diabetes into their everyday lives. They’ll talk about the ways they manage the anxieties and challenges that living with type 1 throws at them. And they’ll discuss how they keep positive. You can ask them any questions you like, no matter how big or small.

Celebrating 100 Years of Insulin – Virtual event
Thursday 12 November 2020, 7.00 – 8.00pm
Join us for a unique celebration, that will mark (a couple of days early!) the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting – co discoverer of insulin.
We want to use this event as an opportunity to say thank you to our wonderful supporters, who throughout the most turbulent of times, have stayed loyal to us, so that we can continue our vital work.
This time 100 years ago Banting and his lab partners would have been on the verge of the most monumental diabetes breakthrough in history (so far!). We will take a look back at how much we’ve progressed and also look forward to the research momentum building. What are the current exciting advances in the field? How far could we be away from our next breakthrough or cure?
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to come together as a community, hear inspirational stories from people affected by type 1 and hear from us – the staff members working behind the scenes at JDRF.
This is a free event and you can register here: https://jdrf.org.uk/event/celebrating-world-diabetes-day-2020/
