Tips for staying safe in the heat.

Hi,
We’ve been having a spell of hot weather recently and as it continues, it’s important to know that hot weather can really affect blood glucose levels and can mean that insulin is absorbed more quickly.
Please be careful in the heat and remember to:
- Check blood glucose levels regularly.
- Keep your meters, pumps and test strips out of the sun.
- Keep your insulin cool.
- Drink lots of water to stay hydrated.
If you’re out and about in the sun remember to wear loose fitting clothing, a hat, sunglasses, and apply sunscreen before going out.
