Diabetes Essentials : Check Regularly for Lumpy Injection Sites

Here’s another in our series of Diabetes Essentials Films:

It’s important to Check Regularly for Lumpy Injection Sites.

These lumpy areas are called lipos and they are lumpy, fatty areas which can develop under the skin where people inject insulin.  These can be subtle rises and dips on the skin and can sometimes be mistaken for muscle growth.  This is why checking injection areas regularly and rotating injection sites will help avoid these developing.

For more information about lipos and injection technique, please watch the following film Injection Technique Matters

These micro-learning resources have been co-created with, and illustrated by young people with type 1 diabetes to support good care and management.
